A Blog Begins

I believe I suffer from C-IBS and yesterday I had a flare-up after overeating on some potato chips. My resolution today has been to avoid any sort of fried foods, be they french fries or potato chips.
So today I woke up with a heavy, gassy feeling in my intestines. I did 8 leg kicks, did some yoga sun salutations, the chan flow technique in tai chi, drank OJ with a mixture of psyllium and flax seed, drank hot water mixed with ACV and lemon. Once I made it into the office, I took a crap within an hour. This is good news for someone wiht C-IBS because sometimes I can go for as long as 3-4 days. I even took a crap yesterday! The problem is my intestines feel inflammed after a bowel movement, so I ate a banana but this only contributed to more problems. I then took a probiotic and after an hour or so I took an enteric coated peppermint oil pill. I then ate some black grapes and by this time my intestinal flame had subsided. My lunch was small and consisted of a Kashi frozen meal of coconut lemongrass chicken over a brown rice pilaf. Since I took my probiotic earlier today, I did not take my usual after-lunch probiotic, but I did take a multi-vitamin.
This was a much smaller meal than I'm used to eating, and I think that I will be hungry soon, although I don't feel any hunger pains 1.5 hours later. I have some sardines I need to eat for Omega-3 oils, but I hope I can make it through my aerobic gym workout before i get hungry again. Small meals for the rest of the day, and another peppermint pill before dinner and then a probiotic before bed. I thought my steady diet of probiotics after lunch and dinner would be able to keep my IBS symptoms at bay, but this has proven premature. The fiber, probiotic and peppermint blend could work, as could the ACV and lemon hot water in the mornings. We will see.
